Hydrangeas are native to East Asia, North and South America.

Botanical description

Habitus: medium-sized deciduous shrub. 

Leaf: Large leaves with serrated leaf margin

Flower: Flowers are clustered in conical inflorescences, sterile. The colour of the flowers varies according to the level of aluminium silicates in the soil. Blooms from June to September.

Growth conditions / Cultivation / Care

The site should be in partial shade, if they are planted in full sun then they will need a lot of water. The soil should be well drained and fertile. They need pruning every year, this helps to regulate the number of flowers and their size.
