Habitat / Home / Areal

It is native to southern Europe and the Canary Islands.

Botanical description

Habitus: tree or shrub, growing up to 10-15 m tall. It produces long shoots and forms a bushy scraggly shrub. 

Leaf: Leaves oblong-lanceolate, acuminate, leathery, shiny on top.

Flower: Flowers greenish or yellowish, in leafy clusters.

Fruit: Fruit is a dark blue berry .

Growth conditions / Cultivation / Care

Sensitive to damage. Can overwinter indoors or in a glasshouse up to 5 °C.
