Habitat / Home / Areal

Native to Europe, North Africa and Asia, especially on the slopes of the Himalayas, China and Siberia.

Botanical description

Habitus: Grows in a wide variety of species.

Leaf: Leaves may be deciduous, wintergreen or evergreen. Deciduous species have beautifully red shaped leaves. 

Flower: Flowers are small, numerous, white, slightly pink.

Fruit: Fruits come in a wide variety of shades of red, with rare exceptions of black, many species retain their fruits until the following spring.

Growth conditions / Cultivation / Care

They do well in any humic soil, but generally like a dry rather than a moist site. They produce abundantly in full sun.
