Massive, medium-dense tree, grows to a height of 30m – 35m, undemanding to the site

Botanical description

Habitus: wide, irregular and spherical, slightly closed and divided crown,, bark gray-brown, furrowed, cracked, the bark is smooth and grey brown

Leaf: the leaves have short petioles, strikingly asymmetrical, twice serrate, turn yellow in autumn, 7 -12 cm long, 6-9 cm wide, elliptical, the front side of the leaf is dark green, on the reverse side the leaf is grey-green and hairy, soft downy, alternate, ovoid, pointed

Flower: blooms in April, red-brown flowers are in bundles, stalked, flowers are self pollinating

Fruit: a flat winged achene with a circular-shaped wing ripens at the end of May, 10-12 mm long, oval, brown seed is in the middle, the fruit stalk is hanging
