Leaf: 
needles are flat, short, soft, blunt or pointed,  dark green and shiny on top, on the reverse side with two whitish stripes.

Flower:  heterosexual

Fruit: The cones are small, non-disintegrating, at the end of the side branches

It requires humid, deep soil, shade, it is planted around water areas, it is a dominant of rockery or perennial flower beds
