Botanical description
Habitus: the crown is ovoid, the bark is smooth silver-gray to dark gray, the shoots are hairy and bald
Leaf: elliptic leaves, pointed, grey-white on the reverse side, yellow in autumn, alternate, semi-oblong, 12 cm long, the edges of the leaves are serrated on the front side, shiny, light to dark green, on the reverse side green-gray, downy, pointed at the top
Flower: the buds are spirally arranged, the inflorescence forms a dense arched panicle, the sepals are triangular, the petals are round, the flowers are monoecious, five-numbered, the flowers bloom in May to June
Fruit: berries (pulpy pods) are ellipsoid to spherical and barrel-shaped, dark red and shiny when ripe, up to 1.5 cm in size, fruits ripen in September to October
