Native to China.

Botanical description

Habitus: Shrubs with dense young, yellow in cross-section.. It grows 1-2 m in height. 

Leaf: Leaves are alternate, feathery, with a smooth and prickly leaf margin. Larger leaves, 30-40 cm long.

Flower: Yellow flowers in clusters or panicles, dense. Flowering from February to April, flowers 8-20 cm long in inflorescences. 

Fruit: Fruits are dark blue, ripen in autumn.

It is a warm-loving plant. It is a hardy species with a winter-hardy habit. Thrives well in shade or full sun.
