Native to Europe, North America, Asia and North Africa.

Botanical description

Habitus: The trunk remains smooth for a long time, but the bark cracks and peels as it ages. The crown is spherical, flattened and compacted.  

Leaf: Leaves are entire, ragged and feathery, with beautiful autumn colour.

Flower: Flowers are star-shaped, standing inflorescences, flowering before leafing out.

Fruit: Fruit consists of two winged drupes (nuts).

Undemanding and do well in any garden soil.
